Jordan Huelskamp is the Founder of Salon, a member-managed contemporary art collection owned and operated by a global community of tastemakers, collectors, and art professionals. A decentralized and Internet-based institution, Salon is building a heritage collection for the digital age, with artworks on display throughout the homes of its members around the world. Salon endeavors to grow the largest co-owned art collection in the world by pooling the funds, knowledge, and access of its members, and relying on a democratic voting process to form consensus on acquisitions.

Previously, Huelskamp served as Curatorial Lead at Artsy, where she spearheaded merchandising strategy across the brand’s app and marketing channels. Her work illuminated Artsy’s industry-leading dataset to tell compelling stories about the art market, reaching an audience of 6M+ social followers and monthly active users—the largest online audience in the commercial art space.

As a New York-based entrepreneur whose expertise includes digital strategy, curation, storytelling, and community building, Huelskamp is an innovative leader in the art and technology space. Her interests in merging art, human connection, and emerging technologies draw from previous experience as an arts and culture writer as well as roles at Apple and early stage Silicon Valley start-ups.

Salon was born from Huelskamp’s continued vision for a more democratized art world, strengthened by art market savvy gained through years at Artsy and her proven track record growing nascent communities.

Huelskamp also sits on the board of the mission-driven arts nonprofit WORTHLESSSTUDIOS in New York, which provides space, materials, technical assistance and resources for aspiring artists of all backgrounds to realize their artistic visions.

Huelskamp was educated at Stanford University (B.A. in American Studies) and Columbia University (M.S. in Journalism).
